The impressive trek to Salkantay and the Rainbow Mountain
After spending some time in Cusco, the capital of the Inca Empire, join us on a trek to Machu Picchu through the Salkantay Trail and then to Peru’s Rainbow Mountain, also known as Seven Colors Mountain and Vinicunca.
This is the best route to explore the magical Humantay Lake, the imposing Salkantay Mountain, the majestic Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, and the authentic Rainbow Mountain. This itinerary includes the best tourist attractions of Cusco, so you’ll have six impressive and challenging days in the company of the best landscapes in the region. In addition, you’ll receive explanations from experienced guides along the way to learn about the history and nature of the Andes.

Hike to the Jewel in the Mountains
After an early wake-up, you’ll head to Mollepata to enjoy breakfast before continuing to Challacancha, where you’ll begin today’s exciting hike. The morning walk will take around 3 hours and lead you to Soraypampa, your first accommodation, where you’ll stay in our unique Sky Camp.
After an energizing lunch and a well-deserved rest, we will ascend to the impressive jewel of the mountain, the Humantay Lake; it is a three-hour round trip before descending for a tasty dinner and a well-deserved sleep.

The Stunning Salkantay Pass and Descent to the Amazon Jungle
Today is the most difficult day, but the reward will be great because you will get incredible views of the landscape. After tasting breakfast, we ́ll ascend for three hours to Salkantay Pass, where we ́ll take pictures of the incredible panorama and recover our energy.
Afterward, we ́ll descend through the cloud forest until we reach our lunch spot before continuing to the jungle’s edge amidst exotic scenery. Finally, we will arrive at the exclusive Mountain Sky View in Collpapampa, where we will spend the night.

Jungle Adventure and Coffee Experience
Your adventure continues today by hiking through the jungle of the Santa Teresa Valley, where you’ll observe a lush landscape of rivers, waterfalls, orchids, and many plantations, including bananas, coffee, and avocado. You’ll get to our Super Jungle Domes camp at lunchtime for a rest before you get to enjoy a free afternoon to explore your surroundings and visit an organic coffee farm. You’ll get a good night’s rest this
evening, listening to the sounds of nature all around.

Enjoy Your First Glance of Machu Picchu from Llactapata

Today’s adventure will be more exciting as you hike part of the original Inca Trail. You ́ll hike for two hours to an Inca archaeological site, Llactapata. You ́ll learn all about the history, as well as get your first view of Machu Picchu.
Then, you ́ll descend to Aobamba for lunch before heading to Hidroelectrica. From here, you can continue walking to Aguas Calientes for three hours or, if you wish, you can board a train (not included in the tour). In the evening, you ́ll have dinner at a restaurant and sleep in a hotel before the big day tomorrow.
Tour of the Incredible Incan Citadel, Machu Picchu
Today is one of the most anticipated days. You ́ll explore one of the New Seven Wonders of the Modern World, Machu Picchu. After an early start to the day, you ́ll head to the citadel to avoid the crowds. Once there, you will have a guided tourand learn everything you need about the site whileappreciating the wonderful scenery.
Afterwards, you ́ll be able to climb an additional mountain if you booked your ticket in advance. Afterward, we will return to Aguas Calientes, where you will have lunch and board the train to Ollantaytambo. From there, our transportation will take you back to your hotel in Cusco. It’s time to rest and recover your energy; another incredible day awaits you tomorrow.
Walk to the impressive Rainbow Mountain
We’ll pick you up early to head to the starting point of the trek. On the way, we will stop for breakfast and get the energy we will need. We will hike for an hour and a half through beautiful scenery and observe the unique Andean wildlife as we make our way along the challenging trail to Rainbow Mountain. Once at the top, you will have plenty of time to enjoy the 360°view and take great pictures.
Later, we will descend for an hour until we reach the start of the hike; from there, our transportation will take us to a restaurant for lunch, and then we will return to Cusco. Finally, we will drop you off at your accommodation to rest after six exciting days.
Say Goodbye to Imperial Cusco
Today, you’ll wake up, have breakfast, and pack your bags, as it’s time to say goodbye to the imperial city of Cusco for now. We’ll organize a time to collect you and take you to the airport or bus station to continue your vacation or return home.
This isn’t a forever farewell, and we’re sure you’ll long to relive all the special moments, learn more about the ancient city and cultures, and try out more of the excellent restaurants and their delicious cuisine. So, it’s not goodbye, but rather, see you soon!
