Viewpoint of the Condors

Early in the morning, our private transportation will pick you up at your hotel between 7:00 and 7:30 am to depart from Cusco towards the west along the Limatambo route (Anta province). The car trip is about 2 hours.

Along the way we will make stops to visit two important archaeological destinations. The first is “Quillarumiyoc”, a temple of fertility in the fields of Anta where the Incas worshiped one of their gods “Mama Quilla” and is famous for “the moonstone”, our guide will give us a short tour of the place describing his story. .

Then we will go to “Tarawasi”, an Inca Tambo (hotel) that was built by order of Pachacuteq to be used during his retreats. You will learn everything about its Andean history and mythology.

Continuing our trip by car until we reach the community of Chonta. Here we will enjoy a nutritious lunch to recharge our batteries for the walk that awaits us (we will be able to see the snow-capped Salkantay and the Limatambo valley in the distance).

We will begin our 1 and a half hour walk through a wide path covered in Andean flora until we reach the MIRADOR DEL CÓNDOR, a natural area from where you can see the entire Apurimac Canyon.

Our guide will explain everything about the condors and the connection they had with the Incas. It is recommended to arrive at 3:00 p.m. when the birds will be returning to their nests and that is when you will be able to see them in full flight.

At the end of the tour, we will return to the Chonta Community where our mobility awaits us, our transportation will leave our travelers at their hotels or near the main square.
