Palccoyo Mountain Colors

Early in the morning, our private transportation will pick you up from your hotel between 6:30 and 7:00 am to head to “Checacupe” in the province of Canchis southwest of the city. The trip usually lasts 2:30 to 3 hours depending on the weather.

Here we will take a short break as part of the itinerary.

You will appreciate the evolutionary process of the transit system used in different periods of history and that is preserved today.

There are 3 bridges over the district's mighty river: the Inka Bridge, the Colonial Bridge and the Republican Bridge.

We will continue along a path to the left of the “Salka” river, this will lead us to the starting point of our 1-hour walk towards “Palccoyo”, along the way we will see thermal erosions caused by the melting of ice and in these native alpacas and llamas.

Arriving at the town of Palccoyo we will have a brief rest.

As we advance, you will be able to see the stone forest “Ccacca Loma”, three rainbow mountains and the red mountain, our guide will explain the orographic history and the evolutionary process, you will have free time to take some photos or videos.

We will also visit the Stone Forest at 4900 meters above sea level, a natural viewpoint to appreciate the unique beauty of the mountain range.

Returning through the Red Valley to the starting point of our walk and we will board our transportation to go to CUSIPATA and enjoy a delicious lunch based on Andean ingredients.

Finally we will return to the city of Cusco for 2 and a half hours, we will leave our travelers at their hotels or near the main square.
