Around midday, they hop on a boat for a 2–2.5 hour river adventure, enjoying a delicious Box lunch prepared by our expert chef. Along the way, capybaras graze on the banks, wading and fishing birds glide overhead, and if luck is on their side, a jaguar or tapir may appear.
Upon reaching Soledad Lodge, participants are welcomed by the staff and explore the lodge grounds, including bungalows, dining areas, and the kitchen. The day ends perfectly with a delightful dinner, an engaging guide talk about the adventures ahead, ice-cold beers at the lodge bar, and a cozy reading room filled with books on the jungle’s flora and fauna.

Day Three – Harpy Eagle and Lakeside Adventure
After returning from the morning trek, the tour participants enjoy a refreshing bath before heading to breakfast, similar to the previous day. They can relax while taking in the lake view or embark on a boat ride along the river, a delightful journey where, with luck, they may spot black caimans, tapirs, capybaras, or even a jaguar in their natural habitat.
Returning to the lodge past midday, the tour participants enjoy lunch followed by a short siesta, resting and recharging for the afternoon.
In the afternoon, they set out on a walking trail that circles Soledad Lake, offering an impressive lakeside adventure with breathtaking views and encounters with the jungle’s flora and fauna.
The day concludes with a splendid evening dinner, creating a perfect ending to another immersive day in the heart of the Peruvian jungle.
Day Four – Macaw Clay Lick and Return
The day begins early, with tour participants rising to enjoy a hot beverage before departing for a visit to the macaw clay lick (collpa de guacamayos). Here, they witness vibrant flocks of macaws gathering to feed on the mineral-rich clay, a spectacular display of color and activity unique to the Amazon jungle.
After soaking in this unforgettable experience, the tour participants begin the return journey to Puerto Maldonado, reflecting on the wildlife, sights, and adventures of the past days. The trip offers a final chance to observe birds, monkeys, and riverine wildlife along the river before reaching the city.
